I like materials.

 

I like the challenge of using unconventional materials to create products with a story, in a sustainable way. The challenge stems from the need to understand the material, its characteristics, capabilities and workability in order to anticipate and design outcomes. The reward is changing perceived ideas about what our ‘stuff’ is and could be made from.

     This often comes in the form of looking at waste differently. Instead of a burden, how can we see it as a material to understand and develop processes to work with it? How do we create outcomes that challenge the users perception of it?

     My experience in consultancy and material research has allowed me to develop my skills in experimentation, R&D and production. With these skills and passion I hope go create many striking and meaningful designs throughout my career.
